Universe At War: Earth Assault Factions  Edit
The Hierarchy provides the muscle of the three unique alien factions. These intergalactic Conquistadors roam from planet to planet stripping it of resources. The Hierarchy, like all factions, utilize unique game play. Rather than have actual bases for production, they simply have large walkers that fill the function both as an offensive unit and production structures. While a powerful and mobile faction, the Hierarchy's units are extremely costly and their economy is dependent on the availability of "insta grabs" or small objects that can be instantly harvested (such as lamp posts, cows, and humans)
Novus are a far cry from The Hierarchy's brute force and straight forward methods. Rather, Novus prefers hit and run tactics and relies on map control and quick troop movement. They are able to utilize a unique element called the "Flow", allowing them to break down into nanites and transmit themselves across a network throughout the battlefield. What Novus lacks in power, they make up for with speed, numbers, the ability to be everywhere at once and the ability to enhance their entire army through specialized "Patches".
The Masari are a race that have technology far beyond that of the Novus or Hierarchy. Their buildings resemble ancient Aztec, Egyptian, and Sumerian buildings, and those of many other similar cultures. Masari ground vehicles for the most part resemble chariots while their aircraft resemble humans with wings. All Masari units and buildings can be switched between "Light" (offensive) and "Dark" (defensive) modes, the effects of which depend on the unit in question. The Masari have a different economy when compared to the other factions and generate infinite resources through Matter Engines.
Humans previously dominated every other species on Earth. They have been thoroughly beaten by The Hierarchy until the arrival of the Novus. The Human military is only a playable faction during the tutorial, but make appearances throughout the three faction's campaigns.
